Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA)

INDEPENDENT MENTAL HEALTH ADVOCACY (IMHA) We provide an advocacy service specifically for people subject to the Mental Health Act (MHA). IMHA’s are specifically trained to work within the framework of the MHA. They are independent of people involved in the patients care. IMHA’s can explain the MHA and how it applies to you, they can help you explore your options, understand the reasons for your treatment, and make better- informed decisions. They can attend appointments, ward rounds, tribunals and
reviews. They can help ensure that your views and opinions are heard. |
